about

Self-produced and self-released, with the help of Will Graefe (Okkervil River/Maya Hawke) on guitar and Nick Jozwiak (Dave Liebman/Ravi Coltrane) on bass, D.Treut appears on drums, keys, vox and clarinet.

To call this EP 'Jazz' would be partly correct, the spirit of improvisation oozes through these tunes. This 5 track EP starts to etch and sculpt this trio's sound. Ranging from gritty fusion, Jim Henson like wonderment, punishing prog, abstract hip-hop and a new music classical piece to round out the ever pervading sense of, 'Who the hell are these guys?! This is amazing!!'

Classifying D. Treut's style as 'outsider music' is somewhat undervaluing, given the complex, intelligent musicality of the work. Yet, the moniker captures the non-conformist spirit of the music.
